Fully charges the tesla in less then 4 hours.  Cost is about $3000.00 and requires a professional liscensed electrician to install.  The technical specs are:

Universal Mobile Connector

It comes with 8 different connectors and can be used on the road or for home use.  Cost is about half of the Home Connector $1500.00.  This uses the clothes dryer type plug (a large appliance plug).  It takes about 6 hours to fully charge the car.  The technical specs are:

This connector charges in about 8 hours.  The cost is $1000.00 but check the prices on all these.  This one might be selling for less.  This is a 240-volt connector.

Acceleration And Torque

The Tesla has maximum Torque available at 0 rmp.  This remains high at higher rpm giving Tesla acceleration that is not found in gas engine.  Gas engines have a small range where the torque is optimal for acceleration.  The Tesla, at 0 rpm, has high torque and red lines at 14,000 rpm.  The power (torque) available also makes it good a steep climbs, probably better then its gas counter part.

 

Electric Engine Energy Efficiency KM/MJ

The Tesla is more efficient in utilizing its energy then hybrids and produces about a 1/10th of the pollution.  The electricity is produced from many sources, natural gas, coal, nuclear, solar, wind…Hybrid vehicles still use gas at higher speeds.  The utilization of the energy from the gas engine is not as efficient as the Telsa electric engine.

The top speed is limited to 125 mph.  It is electronically controlled to not go faster then the 125 mph.

Tesla Electric Car Battery

The Tesla Roadster has a range of 244 miles on a fully charged battery.  The battery is the Lithium-ion battery and it is controlled by a processor that Tesla developed exclusively for the Roadster.  The battery has 6,831 individual cells.  The lithium-ion battery has many advantages: it is lighter and last longer then other batteries.  The expected life of the battery is 7 years or 100,000 miles.

 

Safety

The safety of the Telsa is outstanding with such features as four-sensor four channel (ABS) anti-locking braking system.  It has tracktion control that rivals any sports car.  A tire monitoring system, front and rear crumple zones.  There are driver and passenger airbags along with the side impact door beams for aditional safety.  The seatbelt pretensioners are standard.  One of the features I like about the Tesla is the emergency tire inflator/sealants.  I would really like to see a demo of that.

 

 

Security

The best security feature on the Tesla has to be the motor immobilzer system.  Of course it has theft deterant system along with the PIN code that prevents unauthorized vehicle operation.  The other nice feature is the valet mode that restricts the cars speeed and acceleration.
